More than 1.2 million candles sold at Walmart are being recalled due to cracks in the jars that can cause fire and laceration hazards, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Glass Bottle Cutter
The CPSC said the recall concerns Mainstays Three-Wick Candles in round 14-ounce glass jars sold with Halloween and autumn themes.
It received 12 reports of the candle burning too close to the side of the container, causing the glass to crack. This resulted in one report of a minor cut, multiple reports of property damage and one report of a fire.
The defective candles each had a metal lid and were sold under the following names:
They were exclusively sold at Walmart in stores nationwide and online between September and November 2022 for about $7.
Consumers are advised to stop using the candles immediately and get in touch with candle maker Star Soap Star Candle Prayer Candle here for a full refund.
