A drive-by shooting Sunday in Yakima resulted in a 16-year-old being shot in the head. The 16-year-old victim is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Police were called to a home in the 900 block of East Chestnut at about 11:30 pm Sunday for a report of shots fired.

When they arrived they found the 16-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his head. Police say the suspect vehicle parked in the area and suspects fired shots into the home. The 16-year-old victim was struck as he was standing outside. Authorities believe the shooting was gang related. No suspects were arrested.

Meanwhile prosecutors are charging two teens arrested in the shooting death of a Yakima man in a May 15 drive-by shooting. The teens face charges in Yakima County Superior Court Tuesday. 43-year-old Randy Scholl was fatally shot as he was standing outside a home in the 900 block of La Salle Street on May 15. He died at the scene. After a chase and crash of the suspect vehicle two suspects were arrested 16-year-old Abraham Garcia and 18-year-old David Cordero.

Both face charges of first-degree murder, drive-by shooting, first-degree assault and eluding police Tuesday in Yakima County Superior Court. Washington State law says anyone charged with murder at the age of 16-years-old is automatically charged in adult court.
