Throughout NFL history, there are many players that have won a championship that fans didn't even know were on championship teams.

A Super Bowl is generally defining for a player and their legacy. When discussing a player's accomplishments and how they fit into history, championships are generally what first comes to mind. For example, Tom Brady is generally considered the greatest player of all time, and his seven Super Bowl rings are the main reason behind that.

However, a Super Bowl ring isn't always huge for a player. Throughout NFL history, there are many players that have won a championship that fans didn't even know were on championship teams. While Dan Marino may have not gotten a ring during his time in the league, these players did.

Spencer Ware is mostly known for rising up to be a respectable running back in 2015 and 2016 for the Kansas City Chiefs following Jamaal Charles's departure. However, what is not known is that he has not only one ring, but two to his name. Neither one came when he was on the field either.

Prior to being signed to the Chiefs in 2015, he was actually on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad in 2013 when they defeated the Denver Broncos. He was also on the Chiefs roster when they won the Super Bowl in 2019 but only played three games due to breaking his leg in the season.

Tyrod Taylor is generally a well-respected veteran around the league these days, having been a starter for the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Cleveland Browns. However, before he was a starter, he was riding the bench in Baltimore.

In 2012, he only threw 29 passes all year. However, he still earned a ring when the Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Mark Brunell is mostly known for his stint as a Jacksonville Jaguar. During his nine-year stint in Florida, he made the Pro Bowl several times and helped mold the franchise during its earliest years. However, he didn't score a ring in Jacksonville, he got it in New Orleans.

In 2009, Brunell was on the New Orleans Saints roster as the backup to Drew Brees. He wound up getting his only championship ring that year, as the Saints defeated the Colts in the Super Bowl.

Cordarrelle Patterson has emerged as one of the greatest gadget players in NFL history. A multiple-time All-Pro and Pro-Bowler, he's bounced from team to team during his near decade in the league. However, what many forget is that Patterson actually has a championship on his resume.

In 2018, Patterson was on the New England Patriots. He wound win his sole ring to this point in his career, as the Pats defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl.

Blaine Gabbert has somehow managed to stick around in the league for a decade. First being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round, he was considered a massive draft bust before finding a way to stay in the NFL thanks to being a good backup quarterback.

Gabbert currently resides in Tampa Bay and has done so for the past few seasons. In 2020, he got his first Super Bowl as Tom Brady's backup, as the squad defeated the Kansas City Chiefs.

Vernon Davis is mostly known for his time with the San Francisco 49ers. The former Pro-Bowler was an easy target for Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick in his time at the bay. However, what many forget is what happened after he was a 49er.

His time in San Francisco ended in 2015, as he was traded to the Denver Broncos. He would play sparingly that season, as he would depart the following year for Washington. However, he was able to score a ring in his sole season in Denver, as the team won the Super Bowl against the Carolina Panthers.

The late-great Jared Lorenzen, known as the 'Hefty Lefty', he's a bit of a football cult hero. Despite weighing nearly 300 pounds, he was a great starter at Kentucky in college and signed to the New York Giants after going undrafted.

Lorenzen only threw seven passes during the entire 2007 season, but he still got a ring. He was Eli Manning's backup, as the team pulled off the greatest upset in NFL history, as they defeated the undefeated New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

From one Eli Manning backup quarterback to another, David Carr was a backup for the New York Giants from 2011 to 2012. While he's mostly known for being a draft bust for the Houston Texans, he has a ring to his name, and nobody can take that away from him.

Carr didn't play in a single game in the 2011 season. However, it didn't matter. Carr scored a ring as the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl for the second time in four years.

Josh Gordon is seen as a bit of an unfortunate story in NFL history. While he had the capacity to be an all-time great, he couldn't stay clean as addiction issues forced him out of the league for most of his career. That being said, Gordon does have a Super Bowl ring on his resume.

Gordon spent two seasons in New England, having mixed success. In 2018, he was one of the squad's top receivers, however, he was suspended prior to the playoffs due to drug use. He still did get a ring though, as the Patriots defeated the Rams.

LeSean McCoy was one of the greatest running backs of the 2010s, as he had multiple All-Pro and Pro-Bowl nods for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills. However, he didn't end up scoring a ring with either team. But, he ended his career with two rings in his final two seasons.

McCoy signed to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 and earned a ring as they defeated the 49ers in the season. In the follow-up season, he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and earned another ring as they defeated his former team in the Super Bowl. The wildest part? He didn't play a single snap in either game.
