With its La Premier amenity kit renewed, Air France is working down the cabin – this time taking focus on amenity kits in Business class and Premium Economy.

Like most amenity kits, these will be offered in Business Class and Premium Economy on the airline long-haul segments. With reusability an important point, the kits have been developed with an eco-friendly approach so they can be kept, collected and reused after the flight

Let us look at the Business Class kit first.

The new Business kit features a herringbone pattern and is available in two colours, navy blue and beige.

It also features the winged seahorse – the logo of Air France. The red zipper is another brand accent to cap it off. This kit is made of 96% recycled material. In terms of content:

Meanwhile, in Premium Economy, there are two models available with a mix of deep blue and wide white stripes.

Once again, the red zipper pull reminds us of the airline’s signature accent. The kit is made of 89% recycled material.

It contains a toothbrush made from maize straw, a tube of toothpaste, ear plugs wrapped in kraft paper, as well as a pair of socks and a night mask.

These kits are now flying with the airline and will be available on board for an 18-month period. Their content will be renewed during this time to continue to offer ever more eco-responsible accessories.

Air France is taking further steps to reduce the waste generated in the cabin. As we all know, the first step to reducing waste is not to take the kit at all. But if you are taking the kit, each kit’s plastic packaging has been replaced by an integrity seal in all the cabins.

In addition, the systematic cleaning and disinfection of headphones have enabled Air France to do away with the single-use earphone covers that were previously offered, as well as their packaging.

As airlines attempt to reduce their impact on the environment, there are small steps they can take in the cabin to continue to reduce plastic waste (and other waste generated in flight).
